I start off in complete darkness. Then, I turn the light on. Photography is a media just like paint, pastels, or clay. I use darkness, light, color, and paper to create my artwork. I take a light sensitive paper and begin to fold it in the dark until it becomes a three dimensional object. The light from the photo enlarger lands on surface of the object creating shadows, highlights and shapes as it follows the bends of the paper. My work is an image, a sculpture, and a painting. It's about chance and experimentation. It's about color and how it makes us feel. It's about surrealism and how we perceive reality. It's about the desire to create something out of nothing. It's about change and the ability to transform. It's about photography. It's about art. It's about me. It's about you.
